2021: Oracle DBMS Audit

On March 9, 2021, Korus Consulting Group announced an audit of the Oracle DBMS for the Russian logistics company LogLab, on the basis of which the transactional system (OLTP) operates. IT engineers set up monitoring and made recommendations to improve platform performance, security, and resilience. As of March 2021, specialists provide technical support for the solution.

LogLab provides its customers with comprehensive logistics solutions and is 3PL-provider by the number of warehouses - there are more than 70 of them throughout the country. All processes in the company are digitized in a single WMS and. TMS Thanks to the centralized IT Infrastructure LogLab controls balances and transportation in real time. OLTP Logistics Framework integrated - Transactions are processed online with minimal response time. To ensure the quality of the system, LogLab invited DBMS Oracle KORUS to conduct an audit (base of a highly loaded transactional platform). Consulting

IT company specialists examined the operation of the DBMS, identified artifacts, eliminated them and made recommendations on how to increase its fault tolerance. Engineers identified Oracle platform queries that caused the most response expectations and accelerated their processing by 5 times. They also improved the operation of the backup server with Oracle Snapshot-Standby technology. The server "remembers" its state at the beginning of the day, then the developers test or implement updates. After that, at night, the equipment "returns" to the previously saved state and adds changes. The next day, the cycle is repeated: the standby server repeats the productive one again and is ready for new tests.

Additionally, engineers "KORUS Consulting" configured the integration of the DBMS with HugePages in Linux. This allows LogLab to process heavy requests faster, reducing the waiting time in Oracle.

Loglab provides its customers with a service and flexible integration platform with their systems. At the same time, the processing speed is constantly increasing, which is why we paid special attention to choosing a technological partner for this project. We are looking at a step forward and are considering various options for improving the service, including the transition to an updated warehouse management system based on Manhattan SCALE (Supply Chain Architected for Logistics Execution) together with KORUS Consulting, "said Dmitry Bolotyuk, IT Director of LogLaba.
