2021: Starting the Design Room

On March 30, 2021, IBS announced the launch of the Design Navigator platform, which helps young entrepreneurs get acquainted with promising business areas, lay the foundations for financial, legal and digital literacy, find experienced mentors and assemble a team of like-minded people.

The platform for supporting young entrepreneurs was created on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, which was given to the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ISI) in 2019. The IBS company won the developer competition organized by ASK.

At the start of the project, the team faced the following tasks:

• Create an aggregator of measures to support young entrepreneurs who offer federal and regional executive authorities, as well as commercial funds.
• Provide a set of services that would help young entrepreneurs more actively develop their commercial and social projects.

To solve these problems, it was necessary to implement a full cycle of system creation:

1. Prepare a private technical assignment based on interviews with the customer and focus groups of the system audience.
2. Create a functional prototype of the future platform and develop a design.
3. Develop a platform.
4. Test the platform with limited functionality on real users.
5. Start the system with full functionality into industrial operation.

The result was the Design Navigator platform, consisting of five sections as of March 2021.

Support measures. This is an aggregator that includes more than 1,500 offers for individuals and legal entities as of March 2021. You can set up financial or non-financial support search filters based on the age and level formations of the entrepreneur, region, scope, and stage of the project.

Team selection. All registered users have profiles that contain their photos, a few words about themselves and a list of competencies. This helps to find people in your team or get an invitation to work with others. You can configure filters for quick and efficient searches.

Educational unit. It consists of two components. The first is an educational course that can be taken directly on the platform. The second is the aggregator of partner courses, thanks to which you can switch to other educational sites.

Intellectual property. A collection of information for the user to protect his ideas, projects and finished products.

The goal of "Design" is to unite young entrepreneurs into a community, offering all the necessary tools aimed at simplifying the procedures for the development of the project from idea to working product, "comments Konstantin Egoshin, director of the IBS department. As of March 2021, more than 63,000 users and more than 350 projects were registered in the system.
