Concern "Automatics" began to produce products 30% faster due to lean production

2021: Implementation of lean manufacturing principles at IVA telephone assembly site

As part of its participation in the national project "Increasing Labor and Supporting Employment," JSC "NPP" Signal, "which is part of the Automatics Concern of Rostec State Corporation, introduced the principles of lean production at the IVA telephone assembly site. This was announced by Automatics Concern on April 2, 2021.

The company managed to develop an optimal production scheme for these devices, reduce production time by 30% and increase the quality of products. A reduction in the duration of production processes has been achieved, the volumes of unfinished production have been reduced and the output per employee has been increased. Subsequently, NPP Signal JSC plans to develop and approve a plan to involve all production areas of the company in the project.

During the program, the current state of the site, materials, equipment was analyzed, competencies and advanced skills of employees were checked, rules for the movement of products and materials were developed, the efficiency of using equipment and the implementation of the 5S system at all workplaces of the site were calculated. Together with specialists of the Federal Competence Center of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, NPP Signal JSC developed a plan of measures to optimize the flow.

Also, as part of the national project, employees of NPP Signal JSC took part in the Process Factory, where they gained experience in using lean production tools as part of a real production process, and were able to see the result of improvements due to the achievement of key indicators of production efficiency.

The "Process Factory" is a training production platform created with the aim of involving managers and employees in lean production at enterprises and organizations. The effect of training at the Factory is not only to obtain tools and techniques for lean production, but also to motivate employees to participate in continuous improvements.

As of April 2021, the effectiveness of the national project "Increasing Labor and Supporting Employment" has already been tested by almost 2.5 thousand Russian enterprises. The project increases the competitiveness of Russian goods and services and creates a culture of high efficiency among employees of organizations in each region of Russia.
