The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation together with FSAU Research Institute "Sunrise" and MSTU named after N. E. Bauman formed a project office for the implementation of a pilot project on the import substitution of software products in a higher educational institution. This was announced by MSTU named after N. E. Bauman on April 13, 2021.
As part of the work of the project office of the Voskhod Research Institute, it will ensure the implementation of a pilot project for the transition of the N.E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University to the use of domestic and freely distributed software (software) in educational processes, research and administrative work.
The work will be carried out in stages. At the first stage, selection criteria will be formed and based on them a comparative analysis operating systems based on, a kernels Linux list of necessary applications will be determined and compatibility with the operating system will be tested. Based on the results of testing, a choice will be made of the composition of software solutions that provide full functionality for users, and an automated workplace standard will be defined, which also includes a Russian package of office programs. In addition, the Voskhod Research Institute will design a mechanism for the transition of MSTU named after N.E. Bauman to. domestic ON
At the second stage, the selected software will be installed on the workplaces. At the same time, the Voskhod Research Institute will provide technical support for the installed software.
Thus, by the beginning of the next school year at MSTU named after N.E. Bauman, it is planned to replace the bulk of the software with domestic jobs.
This project is aimed at spreading the experience and best practices of import substitution, software, which can be scaled in the future and to other areas of activity.
