2021: Increasing IT Capacity and Protecting Technology Traffic

Trinity announced on April 15, 2021 that it had completed a project to increase the capacity of the IT infrastructure and protect the technological traffic of the Okko multimedia service. Trinity experts helped to find the best solutions to meet all the requirements of Okko, which made it possible to optimize investments in IT, get a fault-tolerant and fast IT infrastructure, and build reliable IT services.

Quarantine has created ideal conditions for the development of online cinemas. The share of Russians paying for online subscriptions has doubled: from 19% in February to 39% in September 2020. The rapid growth of the audience in 2020 presented a serious challenge to the company's IT infrastructure - additional capacity of the IT equipment used was required, as well as ensuring the protection of technological traffic.

For a stable IT infrastructure, Trinity implemented the project in several stages:

• Phased acquisition of server equipment for installation at Okko sites.
• Solve the problem of server hardware virtualization.
• Provides protection of process traffic in the Okko network.
• Supply of network equipment.

In total, Trinity delivered 19 servers of various configurations. Distinctive features:

• Scalable, high-performance processor with up to 20 cores and 27.5 MB cache.
• Optimal amount of RAM (up to 256 GB).
• High-capacity 1.92 TB SSDs with 12Gb/s SAS interface; high performance (read speed - 2100 MB/s; recording speed - 1800 MB/s); and the allowed number of overwrites of the entire volume of the drive - 1 times a day for 5 years.
• Up to 6TB SAS 12Gb/s hard drives that can be used to create high-density and high-capacity RAID arrays.

Server virtualization is based on VMware vSphere 7. VMware vSphere 7 Enterprise Plus Technical Support Licenses (VMware Licenses vSphere and vCenter server Management Center Licenses; the ability to use an unlimited number of hosts).

The customer also needed a solution to ensure the protection of technological traffic in the network when transmitting technical video content over VPN channels in order to save a backup.

Trinity experts recommended using the solution of Juniper Networks. The choice in favor of Juniper Networks was due to a number of factors:

• availability of FSTEC compliance certificates,
• 24-hour technical support in Russian,
• availability of local warehouses of equipment and spare parts in Russia,
• a developed regional partnership network
• and the ability to train specialists and then certify them in authorized training centers.

To implement the decision, the FSB permit and the license of the Ministry of Industry and Trade were issued.

The solution to the problem of providing access to the local network for further access to the Internet is implemented on the basis of Cisco equipment: access points with antennas and licenses for use. AIR-AP2802E-R-K9 were recommended as access points that support the 802.11ac Wave 2 standard. The hardware increases throughput with MU-MIMO technology. The AP has the ability to detect network security threats through radio modules.

According to Okko, the implemented system fully meets the expectations of the online cinema. Trinity experts have sold all deliveries on time. The implementation and configuration of the solutions was carried out by the combined team of Okko IT service and Trinity specialists.
