Cloud platform Mail.ru Cloud Solutions (MCS) April 28, 2021 introduced Cloud Queues - a service for quick processing of requests in loaded applications. It will help improve the performance and reliability of systems with unstable loads. The service is simply configured, integrated with various applications and supports unlimited queue length.

In 2020, the sharp transition of the business to online, the launch of online stores and digital services provoked an increase in the burden on information systems. The IT infrastructure of many companies has not been prepared to handle the growing volume of cases. Users expect a high level of customer service from digital channels, and failures due to system overload can negatively affect both consumer loyalty and company revenue.

The Mail.ru Cloud Queues message queuing system fixes this problem. By default, it allows you to create up to 500 simultaneous queues from an unlimited number of messages. At the same time, the service is able to process up to 120,000 messages in one standard queue. Cloud Queues is based on the Tarantool in-memory computing platform, due to which the speed of processing requests reaches 5000 requests per second per queue.

The service works with all MCS services and allows you to use all the capabilities of the cloud: linking virtual servers, S3 storage, databases, Kubernetes, and will be especially relevant in microservice and distributed architectures. In addition, Cloud Queues is compatible with the Amazon SQS API, due to which loaded services can transfer applications closer to their users with minimal changes.

Like any Managed solution, the service automates most of the routine administration of the solution. The provider guarantees its availability with a SLA of 99.95%. The service provides a high degree of reliability of message delivery. The shelf life is customized individually and can be up to 14 days.
