2021: Launch a service to automatically add certificates to product cards in online stores
At the end of April 2021, the Federal Accreditation Service (Rosaccreditation) launched a service to verify the status of declarations and certificates of goods in online stores. The project was supported by marketplaces Wildberries and Ozon, as well as retailer Metro Cash & Carry.
This initiative is being implemented to increase the availability of information on the safety of goods, to prevent and combat illegal trafficking in products.
The presence of a document confirming the safety of a product - a certificate or declaration - is an integral component of its consumer value. It is important that citizens have the opportunity to make sure that the goods they purchase are safe both offline in stores and on the market, and online on the Internet, "said Nazariy Skrypnik, head of Rosaccreditation, commenting on the launch of the service. |
According to him, the service will automatically add information on the availability of valid certificates of compliance or declarations of compliance to the card of goods presented at the sites.
The president of Association of the companies Internet torgovliartem Sokolov whose words are cited by FAS press service, says that service allows to check whether correct documents are provided to electronic platform and to quickly make the decision on listing of goods. In the B2B format, this is an opportunity to obtain and verify the necessary supporting documentation used in trade activities by simple identifiers, he said.
First, the service will be launched for individual categories of goods (children's goods, cosmetics, dietary supplements), and then extended to all product categories. According to Skrypnik, this will take "a year or two." Other retailers will join the project, Rosaccreditation expects.
Ozon expressed the hope that participation in the pilot project of Rosaccreditation will help the site dispel the doubts of buyers and guarantee the compliance of goods with recognized standards.[1]
