Contractors: SuitX

Project date: 2021/05

On May 6, 2021, the United Metallurgical Company (OMK) announced the use of exoskeletons to facilitate the work of workers. At the first stage, two pieces of equipment for 1 million rubles SuitX purchased from an American company .

According to the OMK press service, the pilot project was launched on the site of the Chusov OMK plant (Perm Territory). Its goal is to facilitate the work of employees of the warehouse of finished products of the spring production and increase the level of safety. The company hopes that the use of exoskeletons will help employees whose activities are associated with lifting heavy loads, redistribute the load to the musculoskeleton and reduce muscle tension by 60%. The special design of the device reduces the risk of injury at work. Exoskeletons are resistant to moisture and dust, have a small volume and weight, the OMK reported.

Heavy monotonic operations can and should be performed with additional support. This is important for the health of our employees, whose work is associated with high physical activity. When we gain experience in using exoskeletons at workplaces, evaluate the effectiveness, we will consider the possibility of their implementation in warehouses and in spring production, "said Vladimir Kirzner, managing director of the Chusov OMK plant, whose words are quoted by the company's press service.
