2021: Announcement of a smartphone equipped with a camera with an inch sensor
On May 17, 2021, Sharp introduced the world's first smartphone equipped with a camera with an inch sensor, which can be found in some compact cameras, for example, in the Sony RX100 VII. The new model from the Japanese manufacturer was called Auqos R6.
Image sensor size is one of the main indicators for cameras. The larger the matrix, the more light gets on it, and the quality of the photos depends on it, especially in conditions of poor lighting.
In the case of Auqos R6, Leica was developing the camera. The smartphone has one 20.2-megapixel sensor measuring 1 inch with 7-lens optics. The lens has an f/1.9 diaphragm and is supplemented by a laser autofocus. According to the developers, the phone's camera is capable of shooting in ultra-wide-angle mode (equivalent to a focal length of 19 mm), ordinary wide-angle (24 mm) and with a double approximation (152 mm). There is also a depth sensor to help blur the background in the photos.
Another feature of the Auqos R6 was a 6.6-inch display with a high refresh rate (240 Hz), a resolution of 2730 x 1260 points and a maximum brightness of 2000 nits.
A subscreen ultrasonic fingerprint allows two fingerprints to be recognized simultaneously. The front camera uses an image sensor with a resolution of 12.6 megapixels.
RAM and permanent memory are 12 GB and 128 GB respectively. The hardware basis is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. The 5000 mAh battery is responsible for the power supply.
The size of the smartphone is 162 × 74 × 9.5 mm, weight - 207 g.
By May 17, 2021, neither the start of sales nor the cost of Auqos R6 are known. It is only known that the smartphone will first be sold on the Japanese market.[1]
