2021: Solution Development

Atos, an international representative in the field of digital transformation, May 17, 2021 announced the beginning of a collaboration with a Eupry Danish startup specialist in automatic compliance with storage requirements, with the aim of jointly developing the Vaccine Monitoring logistics as a Service solution.

This solution will allow government agencies, pharmaceutical and logistics companies to manage the supply chain of vaccines against Covid-19, as well as other vaccines in the future, while complying with all local regulatory requirements, good practices for the production and distribution of medicines and other storage requirements, such as temperature regime.

In a situation where millions of doses of COVID-19 vaccine need to be simultaneously distributed in more than 100 countries, several aspects must be considered from a logistical point of view. Since Covid-19 vaccines have severe temperature limitations that need to be strictly controlled throughout the logistics cycle, it is important in distribution not only to manage several stages of transportation and storage at thousands of different locations throughout the country, but also to maintain environmental parameters within regulatory requirements. The temperature range in some cases exceeds -70 ° C, depending on the type of vaccine.

Combining Eupry wireless data recorders, as well as Atos "long-term expertise in automation, monitoring and implementation of large-scale projects at the global level, the joint solution" Vaccine Logistics Monitoring as a Service "guarantees the complete safety of the logistics process using a single platform. Eupry data recorders monitor temperatures from -200 ° C to + 200 ° C, as well as pressure drops, humidity and carbon dioxide levels throughout the supply chain (refrigerator, freezer, transportation and storage).

The Vaccine Logistics Monitoring as a Service solution provides a fully automated service that optimizes the company's resources and eliminates the risk of error or violation of regulatory requirements, and also has the following advantages:

  • Monitoring, alerting to changes, compliance with transportation and shipping requirements based on customer needs.
  • Certification by IT experts.
  • Data recorders are supplied with accredited ISO 17025 certificates.
  • Built-in location tracking capabilities.
  • Scalability from one to a thousand units.
  • Robust and proven security solutions based on many years of Atos expertise.

The damage done by Covid-19 to all areas of our lives can be called devastating. The advent of vaccines gives hope for the best in 2021, but their distribution around the world in a short time is an extremely difficult task. We are proud to contribute to its solution and cooperate with Eupry to jointly simplify the work of direct participants in the process, "said Niels Thomsen, Vice President of the Group, Head of Practice at Insight (IoT & AI) Atos at the global level.

It is surprising how quickly the branch of biomedical sciences can inspire hope for a bright future. From our experience with UNICEF, we know that the production and distribution of vaccines to billions of people around the world is a top priority, but that is not all. It is important that vaccines are not corrupted due to improper storage conditions. We need to use technology to free already overloaded medical workers from manual operations, including quality control, "added Christian Hershend Jacobsen, CEO of Eupry.
