2023: Upgrading the Network Management Center

On April 4, 2023, the company Jet Infosystems"" announced that it had equipped the control room of the network management center Vologda Regional Energy Company audiovisual with a complex with a video wall for the operation of dispatchers. These solutions made it possible to improve the quality of communication of employees and speed up the reaction of engineers to failures in the power supply of the region.

In the work of an energy company, the speed of decision-making is especially important for a quick response to failures in the power grid. That is why the customer decided to modernize the network management centers in the Vologda region and transfer them to a digital platform for dispatching power supply management.

Two years ago, specialists from Jet Infosystems installed a number of multimedia and engineering solutions as part of the modernization of our network management center in Vologda. We were satisfied with the result and therefore again turned to our partners with the task of modernizing the network management center now in Cherepovets, ― said Alexey Novozhilov, technical director-first deputy general director of the Vologda Regional Energy Company.

Earlier, the dispatchers of the Cherepovets branch received all information about the operation of networks by phone and manually entered it into accounting logs. The introduction of a digital grid management system has greatly simplified the work of control room employees. On the video wall, the power diagram is displayed in an understandable and convenient form. Power outage notifications appear automatically. This solution also allows engineers and dispatchers to work in a single multimedia space and quickly respond to power failures.

VOEK network management centers are becoming more technological and fault-tolerant, which, in turn, increases the reliability of electrical and heat supply to the region. If earlier the dispatchers processed all incoming information manually, now this happens automatically online: the system quickly collects network analytics and predicts possible accidents. Everything is interactive and visual, - said Alexey Grishin, director of business development at Jet Infosystems.

As part of the project, IT company specialists installed video conferencing equipment (VKS) and connected the control room to the corporate VKS system so that branch employees could hold operational meetings with colleagues from other cities with high video and sound quality. Employees of Jet Infosystems also installed a touch panel for the convenience and ease of control of the multimedia complex in the control room of the center.

2021: Modernization of the VOEK Network Management Center

On May 19, 2021, Jet Infosystems announced a project for a complete update of the Network Management Center of the Vologda Regional Energy Company (VOEK), including the supply of materials, equipment, software, as well as the replacement of an analog mnemonic card with a modern information display system. First Deputy Governor, Chairman of the Government of the Vologda Region Anton Koltsov took part in the technical acceptance of the modernized Center.

In 2020, Jet Infosystems won the VOEK tender for the implementation of a comprehensive project for the modernization of the Network Management Center (CCNS).

The network management center is the "heart" of the energy company - in 24/7 mode, it is responsible for monitoring the operating indicators of the main business process of the production line - operational dispatch management of the energy system, analytics, forecasting, increasing the situational awareness of the dispatcher, accelerating the reaction and making the right decisions, - says Aleksei Tsvetkov, General Director of Vologdaoblenergo JSC. - The deep technical modernization of the CCNS included both the design and repair of the premises, the supply and commissioning of the engineering infrastructure and the multimedia complex. The implementation of such a project requires serious engineering knowledge and competencies. It could cause difficulties, but, thanks to the high qualifications of the specialists of the Jet Infosystems, it was performed efficiently.

Previously, dispatchers used bulky mind maps in their work. They displayed indicators of the state of electric networks, information on loads and emergencies. Only experienced employees could correctly read the map and quickly solve problems in case of any incidents.

After implementation, the information is displayed in a convenient form on the video wall of the Network Management Center with a width of 10 meters, which consists of Barco UniSee liquid crystal panels. The total resolution is 15,360 x 4,320 pixels. The screens are close to each other and are combined by the controller into a single field, which allows dispatchers to conduct round-the-clock information collection, control technological processes, and quickly make decisions in case of emergency situations.

The main quality of the Network Management Center is the complexity of information display. The control room is equipped with automated workplaces, an audiovisual complex for joint work and an integrated control system, "says Olga Sladkova, head of the multimedia sales support group at the Jet Infosystems Network Solutions Center. - Now an employee of the Center can divide a single workspace into several areas, change the scale of the image, hold online meetings, broadcast video in multi-window mode with the possibility of arbitrary positioning on the video wall field without binding to the boundaries of individual displays.

We are talking about the efficiency of responding to emergency situations. In addition, some of them can be warned, since certain parameters are set in the system, and in case of deviation from them, an instant response takes place. This allows you to quickly solve the problem and prevent a large-scale power outage, - the official portal of the Government of the Vologda Region quotes Anton Koltsov. - In the future, this system will make it possible to quickly and timely inform citizens about the facts of planned and unscheduled outages, forecasts of the restoration of power supply for the population.

In addition to installing multimedia solutions, the specialists of Jet Infosystems prepared a temporary dispatch center, equipped it with a mobile system for comprehensive information processing, organized seamless work, repaired the dispatch room, changed the electrics, installed ventilation, air conditioning, lighting and uninterrupted power supply systems.
