2021: Automation of a heat exchanger for defrosting railway cars

On May 27, 2021, it appeared information that the employees of the company "" UMMC-Telecom together with the specialists of the management of information technologies JSC "" Svyatogor made a comprehensive automation and dispatching of the greenhouse for defrosting the cars of the railway workshop of the Svyatogor enterprise. Teplyak is designed to warm up compositions with a gas-air mixture extracted by raw materials, in order to subsequently accelerate and optimize their unloading in winter and off-season.

Within the framework of the project, cable lines were laid, sensors and gate valves were installed, technological processes were automated, including heating and supply of air and gas, fan and smoke control cabinets were installed with the main heat supply indicators being output to the operator's room of the railway workshop.

"The sensors installed inside allow you to monitor and control the pressure and flow rate of natural gas, the temperature of the supplied air, the concentration of carbon monoxide inside the room and other parameters," said Mikhail Kotikov, project manager at UMMC-Telecom.

To ensure the safety of the workshop employees, light and sound alarm systems were installed, as well as traffic lights that control the movement of working trains.

Integrated automation optimizes the operation of the greenhouse and saves energy resources. For example, employees of the workshop can set the temperature to a minimum when there are no serviced trains inside so that, working idle, the warmer spends a minimum of resources. But the most important advantage of automation, as noted, is the provision of mobility, ease of management and safety of the production process.[1]
