IBM System Storage N series

PKF Atlantis-Pak LLC – one of the largest producers of packaging for meat products and cheeses. The head office of the company is located in Rostov-on-Don, four branches – in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk. The geographically-distributed structure of branches delivered before company management an access efficiency problem to information and high risks of loss of critical business data. The existing storage system did not answer problems of business development: the archive of business data was located in the territory of branches on several servers and not synchronized. With respect thereto the company management announced the tender for creation of a centralized system of data storage.

According to the results of carrying out the tender PKF Atlantis-Pak LLC gave preference to solutions of IBM of products of HP, Sun and EMC. The developed IBM solution on the basis of a failover cluster based on DWH of a N-series provided accomplishment of functionality necessary for the customer. The hardware-software platform of the solution consists of N6040, N5200 systems placed in Rostov-on-Don, four DWH of N3300 in territories of branches of the company and also a monitoring system of DWH of Data Fabric Manager. Thanks to such configuration of the solution the round-the-clock failsafe access to data assets of the company and also permanent reservation of data at an interval of 15 minutes whereas earlier the period of reservation was 24 hours was provided. Considering a question of further development and support of a storage system, the company management paid attention to existence of service support of IBM in Rostov-on-Don where there is a head office PKF Atlantis-Pak LLC.
