2021: Attracting $25 million investment
In early June 2021, the Iterative startup, founded by Russian developers Dmitry Petrov and Ivan Shcheklein, which is the creator of a platform for using machine learning in business processes, raised $25 million. The Series A investment round was led by 468 Capital and Mesosphere co-founder Florian Leibert, and previous investors True Ventures and Afore Capital also invested in the startup.
The main idea of the Iterative startup is to provide analysts and data engineers with access to a platform that resembles a modern stack of technologies based on GitOps. By June 2021, the Iterative stack consists of several tools, in particular the Data Version Control (DVC) platform for experimenting and managing machine learning models, as well as the SaaS platform for collaboration between development teams.
DVC Studio allows machine learning developers to conduct hundreds of experiments with complete transparency, giving other developers in the organization the opportunity to fully participate in the process, "said Iterative CEO Dmitry Petrov. - The funds raised will allow us to bring more innovative products and services to our ecosystem. |
Petrov emphasized that Iterative intends to build an ecosystem of tools, not a monolithic platform. After the last round of funding closed in early spring 2021, Iterative had about 30 employees, many of whom were previously active in the open source software community associated with Iterative projects. By June, the number of employees approached 60.[1]
