Rostelecom and the NAO Administration agreed on cooperation in developing the investment attractiveness of the region

2021: Cooperation Agreement on Development of Investment Attractiveness of the Region

On June 3, 2021, Rostelecom and the Administration of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug entered into a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by the governor of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Yuri Bezdudny and the president of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky.

The parties agreed on cooperation on increasing investment attractiveness and developing priority areas of the district economy. It is planned that the result of cooperation will be an increase in the level of security of the critical information infrastructure of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the development of public-private partnerships and an increase in the economic connectivity of the territories of the Russian Federation.

Within the framework of the agreement, Rostelecom and the NAO Administration will take part in joint programs to attract investments in the region's economy, including those aimed at the development of integrated information systems and telecommunications, as well as contribute to the creation of the infrastructure necessary for the introduction and development of such systems.

Yuri Bezdudny, Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, noted: "We expect that cooperation with Rostelecom will contribute to the creation of the most favorable conditions for the development of the economy in our region. We strive to strengthen information technology cooperation and choose a reliable partner for this. In the end, all our efforts are aimed at improving the quality of life of the population of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, this is our main goal. "

The level of technological capabilities, which on average in the country is considered the norm and has long been achieved, appeared in the NAO relatively recently. Such an approach will undoubtedly be the key to our successful interaction. In 2011, Rostelecom laid a main communication cable in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug. This is the first and only optical line to the region in June 2021. It is 330 km long and runs through difficult terrain. The operator continues to increase the level of digitalization of the region and develop communication services for business, the state and the population.
