X-Com has scaled the information system of the Institute of Urban Planning of the Moscow Region

2021: Information System Development

On June 17, 2021, X-Com announced the implementation of the project for the development of the information system of the State Autonomous Institution of the Moscow Region "Research and Design Institute of Urban Planning" (GAU MO "NIIPI Urban Planning"). As a result, a functional technological base was created for the implementation of the institution's projects.

Due to the increase in the volume of work on the preparation of territorial planning documents, projects of zones for the protection of cultural heritage objects, transport service schemes, architectural and urban planning concepts and architectural and landscape justifications, the customer needed to significantly increase the capacity of the existing data storage system.

The selection of the project contractor was made on the basis of an open tender among Russian system integrators and software and hardware suppliers. Along with price characteristics, the experience of candidates in implementing projects on informatization of state institutions similar in scope and complexity was evaluated.

As part of the project, a detailed survey of the customer's hardware and software complex was carried out and the tasks facing it were analyzed. Based on the data obtained, a proposal for scaling the IT infrastructure was developed and a technical specification of the recommended equipment was compiled. As a result, it was decided to introduce the additional network storage Synology RackStation RS1619xs + into the Institute's storage system.

This solution is a highly scalable 1U rack NAS system that supports memory upgrades and M.2 SSD cache configuration. A flexible system of shared folders/user quotas provides comprehensive quota management across all user accounts and across all shared folders. The solution is integrated into the customer's infrastructure, all necessary commissioning work has been completed.
