2021: Implementation of radio frequency identification system

Rusnano's portfolio company PCT-Invent and Peterform (part of Magna International Group of Companies) announced on June 16, 2021 the completion of a project to introduce a radio frequency identification system . The project was implemented at one of the company's plants in St. Petersburg.

The introduction of radio frequency tags allows you to monitor the movement of equipment and automotive components in the enterprise. RFID real-time monitors the movement of marked parts in the plant and ensures that they are available.

Two types of RFID labels were used simultaneously to provide 100% observability. TargetTag is intended for marking of articles with metal surface, and CandyTag - for glass and plastic. The entrance and exit to the territory of the enterprise was equipped with portal RFID readers RST-GN-003. The system reads the markings and sends the results to the database, and also signals when violations are detected.

The implementation of the project at Magna International confirms that PCT-Invent software solutions meet international standards and are ready for scaling. As part of the project, the company went through a full cycle - from development to implementation with subsequent maintenance, "said Sergey Vakhterov, senior managing director for investment activities at RUSNANO Management Company.

We have implemented only the first stage of automation of the corporation's Russian plants and are discussing further plans to scale the RFID system, primarily to control equipment at street-plant sites. I have no doubt that the decision will show its effectiveness, and in the very near future we will begin to introduce a system based on other plants of the Magna International group in Russia, "said Alexei Fuzeinikov, business development manager at PCT-Invent.
