June 23, 2021 it became known that Moscow buys about 6 thousand units of medical equipment. Among them are computer and magnetic resonance tomographs, angiographs, mammographs, devices for X-ray and ultrasound diagnostics.
According to Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, by June 23, 2021, more than 5 thousand devices had already been purchased, of which more than 2 thousand devices were admitted to city hospitals and clinics and gradually put into operation.
A significant part of the delivered equipment is made up of modern ultrasound devices. Also, hospitals and clinics received more than 70 units of flexible endoscopic equipment used for diagnostic studies in broncho-, gastro- and colonoscopy. Medical organizations received 24 computer tomographs, 31 X-ray diagnostic machines, 3 mammographs and other equipment.
According to Anastasia Rakova, part of the equipment entered the clinics, where the overhaul was completed. In accordance with the requirements of the new Moscow standard, updated clinics receive additional diagnostic equipment, including an expert class. In particular, 91 ultrasound devices, mammographs, as well as installations for X-ray diagnostics of various models have already been brought to polyclinics.
Purchases are made under so-called life-cycle contracts, under which the supplier guarantees its operability throughout the life cycle. This improves the quality and accessibility of medical care, as it minimizes equipment downtime associated with maintenance or repair, according to the website of the Mayor of Moscow. Long-term contracts ensure optimal value for money between the price and the cost of maintenance.[1]
