2021: Exos Corvault Storage Edition
On June 22, 2021, Seagate Technology announced the release of an intelligent storage system for large amounts of data, designed to simplify seamless data management and reduce human interference in macroperiferia and data center processes. This high-density Exos CORVAULT storage system offers SAN-level performance. It is based on the Seagate storage architecture, which combines sixth-generation ASIC VelosCT, ADAPT data protection technology, and offline disk recovery.
Developed on the Seagate Exos 4U106 (12 Gb/s) platform, CORVAULT offers Five 9s (99,999%) availability, helping to ensure consistently high reliability. The 4U maximum density chassis holds 106 hard drives, taking only seven inches (18 cm) in a rack. It is optimized for high disk performance by protecting against vibration and acoustic interference, overheating, and power failure.
The Seagate VelosCT Dual Storage Controller optimizes the parallel performance of all drives, while Seagate Advanced Distributed Autonomous Protection Technology (ADAPTER) distributes data to all drives, provides enhanced protection and rapid recovery without compromising performance.
Self-Contained Drive Recovery (ADR) is a self-correcting system that returns the drive in place to normal operation without having to be replaced manually. The ADR technology developed by Seagate allows you to return most disks to a reliable operational state by reconfiguring the disk to bypass failed components. It also helps reduce the environmental impact of computer electronic waste, as ADR disks are recovered rather than discarded.
CORVAULT will go on sale worldwide through Seagate authorized distributors in July 2021.
