History
2021: Attraction of $350,000, estimated at EUR 3 million
In June 2021, it became known about the investment of $350 thousand in OVO. The fund TA Ventures, the club of private investors ICLUB, as well as the company Imperia Holding invested in the Ukrainian startup. Taking into account this transaction, the total investment in OVO reached $500 thousand, and the company was valued at 3 million euros. At the same time, the shares of investors in the project are not called.
The OVO team plans to direct the funds raised to open new darkstores in order to cover the entire Kiev with an operational delivery network until the end of 2021.
In June [2021] in the center of Kiev, we are already delivering in less than an hour. Within a few weeks, we will launch a darkstore on the left bank of Kiev, and delivery will also work there in an hour, "said OVO co-founder Roman Melkumov, speaking about the company's plans after the investment round. |
During the year of operation, the OVO service served 7500 customers with an average check of 950-1000 UAH. Every day, the company carries out more than 190 orders, the number of employees is about 50 (data for June 2021).
In addition to vegetables and fruits, on which OVO initially specialized, OVO added its own bread, cereals, teas to its range and continues to expand the range further. The team also developed their packaging for greens, which helps to maintain freshness when delivered.
The company believes that the food market has become a very attractive investment niche, which received its strong development during the coronavirus pandemic COVID-19 due, among other things, to delivery services. By 2025, the volume of this market in the world is expected to be $390 billion.[1]
