2021: Eruditor Group bought Meta

On June 24, 2021, it became known about the sale of the Meta project to the Eruditor Group, which owns the leading Russian specialist search service Профи.ру and the Zoon location and service selection service. About this on his Facebook page wrote the founder and CEO of Meta Ivan Zamesin.

Although this is emotionally very difficult news for me and the team, but this is long-term good news for Meta and me... This is a profitable deal for the Eruditor Group, since when buying a company below the market valuation estimated at the multiplier below, the valuation of the parent company significantly increases due to the difference in multipliers, he said.

According to Zamesin, after the sale of the project, he will leave the operational management of him, and will also cease to be a shareholder. He noted that the service was sold significantly lower than the market valuation. The transaction cost amounted to 8 million rubles, "de jure, this is a sale," but for Zamesin this is a return on his own investment in the service.

Zamesin explained the sale of his startup by problems with an unsuccessful business model, as well as the fact that his attention went to another project - Focus Calendar. This is a calendar for English speakers to save time by automating tasks.

He said that he tried to find several solutions - to find a new CEO, and also suggested that the Eruditor Group develop the service together, but the "non-profit business model" became a problem.

The Meta company will be headed by the former managing director of Amediateka Elena Kiryushina.^[1]
