2024: Nxtwear S Plus exit
In mid-February 2024, TCL announced the Nxtwear S Plus smart glasses that can be used with game consoles and personal computers. The gadget is capable of forming a high-quality image equivalent to viewing a 215-inch display from a distance of 6 meters.
The device is equipped with FHD Micro OLED displays with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. The maximum image of a 3D scene reaches 3840 × 1080 pixels. The refresh rate is 120 Hz, the contrast ratio is 100,000: 1, the brightness is 600 nits. 108 percent coverage of the sRGB color space is claimed. It is possible to display 16.7 million color shades. A set of technologies has been implemented to protect the user's vision. These are Flicker-free and Low Blue Light systems with TÜV Rheinland certification, which eliminate flickering and reduce the intensity of blue backlight. This reduces eye strain during long-term work and increases the comfort of viewing content.
The USB Type-C/DisplayPort interface is used to connect to the signal source. Speakers capable of providing surround sound are integrated into the arms. Whisper Mode is provided, when activated, the sound will be heard only by the user himself. The new product weighs less than 90 g. It talks about compatibility with the Nintendo Switch, Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Xbox consoles .
Externally, the Nxtwear S Plus gadget resembles traditional sunglasses. The possibility of magnetic attachment of additional lenses for myopia correction is provided. Comfort is achieved due to the possibility of changing the stop in the bridge of the nose, taking into account the anatomical characteristics of the user. The device is made in black. As of mid-February 2024, the cost is approximately $400.[1]
2021: NxtWear G announcement
At the end of June 2021, TCL introduced a wearable display for a smartphone in the form of glasses, which will go on sale in July in Australia for $680, and then appear in other markets.
The NxtWear Gs work as an external display for a mobile device or laptop and feature two Micro OLED 1080p panels that create a look at the 140-inch screen. The wearable display works with phones, tablets and laptops that offer the USB-C DisplayPort feature, including the latest MacBook, iPad Pro and Samsung S21 series phones. The glasses connect directly to the device, displaying the content on a 16:9 screen. Stereo speakers are built into the arms of the glasses, but TCL recommends using wireless headphones or a headset.
Among other announcements to coincide with the Mobile World Congress, TCL introduced a new screen sharing feature for its smartphones called the Multi-Screen Collaboration. At launch, it will only run on TCL 20 Pro 5G and allow phone owners to share files, photos, buffer content and messages wirelessly with a compatible laptop or Windows 10 PC. Photos and videos can also be transferred from your phone to a TCL TV. In this mode, the phone acts as a trackpad, so the user can move the cursor over the TV screen and select images or clips to play.
TCL is also announcing another new wearable, the Movetime 2 family watch. This child-centric version of the smartwatch supports 4G, features a 1.54-inch screen and voice and video features. Parents will be able to track the location of children in real time, and the watch will be able to keep up to seven days on standby.[2]
