2021: SAP Migration to Microsoft Azure Cloud Assessment
Crayon on June 30, 2021 announced the launch of a project to migrate SAP infrastructure to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform in the Winlab supermarket chain. With this project, the company plans to avoid the need to constantly update server equipment and get a dynamically scalable IT infrastructure.
Crayon specialists were entrusted with assessing SAP's readiness for the company's landscape to be transferred to Azure, taking into account the used, software existing licenses and development plans.
As of June 2021, for the operation of SAP applications, the Winlab supermarket chain uses a local server infrastructure that needs constant support and maintenance from IT personnel. At the same time, the company is faced with application delays associated with insufficient hardware performance, limited testing capabilities, and the inability to ensure the required level of fault tolerance and security.
Crayon specialists conducted an inventory of the current state of the Winlab server infrastructure. Based on the data obtained, recommendations were provided for replacing outdated software, a migration roadmap to the cloud was developed, and a calculation of labor costs and migration costs was carried out.
Using the SAP-certified Microsoft Azure cloud platform will allow Winlab to get the following advantages:
- Significant maintenance savings for existing SAP systems and solutions by reducing the need for local hardware, software, and computing in local data centers
- the ability to scale computing power on demand;
- Faster infrastructure deployment for SAP applications
We have implemented a project to evaluate the migration of SAP systems to a reliable and secure Microsoft Azure cloud with Crayon. Using SAP in the Cloud will improve system availability, reduce capital costs, and minimize transaction costs. This will allow you to instantly receive and process all the indicators necessary to analyze the operation of stores and their operational management, - explained Evgeny Shingarev, Chief information officer of the Vinlab supermarket chain. |
