2021: Kaspersky IoT Secure Gateway Implementation Plans
On July 7, 2021, it became known that STAN, with the support of RT-Capital of Rostec State Corporation, will introduce solutions to protect industrial equipment from cyber attacks as part of the concept of a "digital workshop." The software supplier will be NPO Adaptive Industrial Technologies, a subsidiary of Kaspersky Lab.
The parties agreed on cooperation in the field of creating a secure ecosystem for the digital transformation of industrial enterprises. The agreement involves cooperation in the field of ensuring the cybersecurity connection of metalworking equipment to digital platforms; provision of additional guarantee of safety of end-to-end digital services of STAN LLC used both for production sites of the company and all its customers.
As a result of the project, the company is one of the first in the Russian market to begin to supply a cyber threat protection system complete with high-tech machines: unauthorized access to data, drawings and production plans, as well as attempts to influence the work of enterprises from outside. In addition, companies will test and begin to use another class of cyber-immune solutions, the task of which is to ensure the safe connection of industrial data sources to digital platforms "Production 4.0."
Digitalization is becoming the main trend and driver of machine tools. The signing of this agreement is a logical continuation of the started work of STAN LLC on the development of digital services and the transformation of procurement workshops, which are the basis of any production, is impossible without reliable data protection. One of the first steps to implement the agreement will be the formation of a digital landfill, on the basis of which the main digital services can be worked out in the interests of consumers and the risks that can result from the changing landscape of cyber threats. The combination of competencies and developed technologies of the parties to the agreement will create competitive Russian solutions with high export potential. We expect to make the first deliveries of machines with a cyber threat protection system by the end of 2021, "said Kirill Fedorov, General Director of RT-Capital. |
Under the terms of the agreement, STAN will equip machines with the development of the Kaspersky IoT Secure Gateway 100, an industrial data gateway that provides direct secure connection to industrial domains with press equipment, conveyors, CNC machines and other devices.
Convergence of technological and corporate circuits increases and simultaneously expands the surface of possible cyber risks. So, according to Kaspersky Lab, the number of cyber threats for the Internet of Things (IoT) has grown more than a hundred times over the past five years (from 2.5 thousand in 2016 to 331 thousand in 2020). Within the framework of this agreement, it is planned to test and use a different class of cyber-immune solutions, which will significantly increase the security of processing centers and digital platforms in the industry from current and future cyber threats, "commented Andrei Suvorov, Director General of Adaptive Industrial Technologies NGO [1]. |
