In July 2021, it became known about the acquisition of VR simulators by Rosseti for training and training employees in virtual reality. The supplier of this equipment was the Russian Nomix.

According to Vedomosti, citing representatives of Nomix, with the help of VR complexes consisting of virtual reality helmets and controllers put on their hands, power engineers will be able to work out complex tasks without endangering themselves. The software allows you to beat the simulator to replace the switch on an open 110 kV switchgear and replace the insulating suspension on a 500 kV overhead line.

A company employee puts on a VR helmet, and an authorization window appears in front of him, where he enters his credentials using helmet controllers on his hands and a virtual keyboard. After that, the user gets access to training programs that need to be held according to the position.

According to him, virtual reality allows you to recreate the environment in digital space - both visual images and sensations, this provides high efficiency in learning.

Rosseti, in turn, expressed the hope that VR simulators will help improve the quality of staff training.

The cost of the transaction between Rosseti and Nomix is not disclosed. According to Vedomosti, the complex uses a helmet from a foreign company Pico, but the greatest costs go to the development of software. Rosseti plans to purchase more than 100 simulators in all 15 subsidiaries in the period until 2025.[1]
