2021: Using Galileosky terminals

July 12, 2021 it became known later that the Galileosky terminals are used to control the Norilsk Nickel icebreaker.

Specialists of the integrator company LLC Vidar"" developed a monitoring system for the icebreaker PJSC "." Norilsk Nickel The solution operates on the basis of the Galileosky terminal satellite communications with the Iridium module and can transmit data about an object from anywhere on the planet.

The system passed two-month ship tests in the most severe conditions - in the Arctic on the Monchegorsk icebreaker PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel. In two months, the ship made 6 flights (Murmansk-Dudinka). Due to the especially difficult ice situation in the Kara Gate Strait, the ship made one trip, bypassing the Novaya Zemlya archipelago from the north.

The percentage of missed reports was 1.1% - only 46 out of 4260 reports were lost. The monitoring stability of the "Galileosky Base Block Iridium Marine Kit" is close to 100%, the devices worked at temperatures of -39C ° when other standard equipment failed. The declared range from -45C ° to + 85C ° of Galileosky equipment operation passed the next test in combat conditions.

The position report contains coordinates, heading, speed and time stamp, and its length is 13 bytes. The amount of information transmitted per month when transmitting monitoring reports every 20 minutes was 29016 bytes (31 days * 72 reports per day * 13 bytes), which fits into the standard SBD-30 tariff plan, as well as other manufacturers' equipment.
