On July 15, 2021, SAP CIS announced that the Cheboksary manufacturer of tanker trucks Sespel plans to build intelligent production using the SAP cloud platform and increase production to 4,000 units per year in the next 3-4 years. As of July 2021, the company produces about 1,200 tanker trucks per year. Sespel also expects to produce about 30,000 parts (axles, valves) for tanker trucks per month instead of 1000 units. Thus, Sespel will be able to provide up to 30% of the total tanker market with products, which corresponds to the plans of the Russian government to increase the production of Russian spare parts. To implement such large-scale plans, the company decided to implement the SAP S/4HANA Cloud platform by the end of 2021 (RISE Private cloud edition), which will help to build key end-to-end business processes for resource accounting and control in accordance with the requirements of Russian legislation, set up operational calculation and analysis of production costs based on the best production practices implemented in the pre-configured NTT DATA Business Solutions solution for production companies in Russia. The increase in output in order to provide the market with domestic products has entailed an increase in intensity and complexity of logistics processes. The SAP platform will allow Sespel to plan production and supply and monitor the timeliness of deliveries, avoiding backfilling of the warehouse.
