The National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov will purchase a Da Vinci robot surgeon. For this, the Government of the Russian Federation allocates 310 million rubles to the institution, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at an operational meeting with his deputies on July 19, 2021.
According to him, As the prime minister explained, expensive equipment is necessary for ultra-accurate and complex operations. The use of a robot assistant allows you to reduce the risk of complications in future mothers, he said.
And this high-tech aid will be available to even more women. After all, patients from all over the country are accepted at the Kulakov Center, Mishustin added. |
In addition, according to the prime minister, work on updating equipment in maternity hospitals and other medical institutions will continue, since this topic for the government is one of the most priority.
Da Vinci robot surgeon is able to perform operations in such areas as urology, general surgery, gynecology, endocrinology, ENT surgery, cardiology and colorectal surgery.
NMIC named after academician V.I. Kulakova is a multidisciplinary scientific and clinical complex, in the structure of which by July 2021 there are 61 clinical divisions and 25 scientific and clinical laboratories, where 2.8 thousand employees work. The capacity of the center is 583 beds, including 253 midwife beds, 100 neonatal and 147 gynecological beds.
In mid-July 2021, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation reported that the NMIC would receive a grant in the amount of 92.7 million rubles to update the instrument base for the federal project "Development of infrastructure for scientific research and training" (included in the national project "Science and Universities").[1]
