2021: Announcement of AI systems for checking schoolchildren's homework

In July 2021, the Ministry of Education announced the upcoming introduction of an AI system for checking schoolchildren's homework. The service was called "Digital Assistant Teacher."

According to the passport of the strategy for the digital transformation of education, which was prepared by the Ministry of Education, the new platform not only automates the verification of homework, but also will provide "planning work programs, simplify and help form an effective system for identifying, developing and supporting talents in children." The implementation of the documents is designed for the period from 2021 to 2030.

As part of the digitalization of education, it is planned to automate the verification of 50% of homework. In addition, the plan of the Ministry of Education provides for the provision of all schoolchildren with free educational content for independent training, services for its selection, as well as the opportunity to use a digital organizer in order to draw up an individual training program.

The Ministry of Education told Kommersant that the use of artificial intelligence algorithms is planned "exclusively to help teachers."
