On July 20, 2021, PNY announced the release of the LX2030 and LX3030 solid-state drive line, expanding the company's SSD range.

According to the company, the PNY LX2030 and LX3030 M.2 NVMe SSDs are a solution for Proof-of-space-and-time applications used in plotting Chia Coin. Unlike "proof of work" models, such as bitcoin, in the calculations of which complex mathematical calculations are carried out, which leads to the consumption of a large amount of energy, "proof of space and time" applications use unused space in user systems, which makes them more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. To protect the blockchain, the data must first be created in a process called "plotting," which is required only once for each graph file. This process requires intensive recording, so plotting requires an SSD with constant bandwidth and endurance (TBW, or recorded terabytes). Typically, this level of write performance and endurance is observed only on enterprise-class SSDs.

The LX PNY family of drives uses Lifextension technology, thanks to which the TBW Chia is up to 54,000 in the LX3030 2 TB model. To provide this value of TBW when plotting, the PNY LX series solid-state drives use AI Engine, LDPC and Flash I/F to optimize the durability of NAND memory, which makes them optimal in cost for plotting.
