At the end of July 2021, the Israeli company Airobotics, which develops unmanned aerial vehicles, entered into a deal to help the Dubai police make the city safer for local residents and guests in anticipation of a regional business conference.
On July 21, 2021, Dubai's ruler, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, introduced the Drone Box, an unmanned aircraft system created by Airobotics that will help the Dubai police increase operational efficiency and reduce emergency response time.
During my visit to the Dubai police headquarters, we launched Drone Box, a platform for sending drones throughout Dubai, in order to reduce the response time to criminal and road accidents from 4.4 minutes to, 1 said Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. |
The new drone system will be officially launched during the Expo 2020 Dubai exhibition, scheduled for October 2021. It is expected that the conference will be attended by more than 200 participants, including representatives of states, multilateral organizations, business and educational institutions.
Each drone will cover an area of about 19 square miles and as part of the project it is planned to cover a whole city.
John Medved, CEO of Israeli company OurCrowd and investor Airobotics, said:
We are proud that millions of tourists, including dozens of officials and heads of state, who are expected to visit the World Exhibition in Dubai this year, will be able to see the Airobotics system. This is really the best scene for demonstrating the capabilities of Drone Box, which can be applied in tens of thousands of cities around the world. |
The deal took place on July 21, 2021, when the United Arab Emirates opened its embassy in Israel in order to stimulate bilateral trade and investment opportunities.
