2021: SDN Portfolio View
Samsung Electronics On July 22, 2021, the company announced the expansion of its portfolio of software-configurable network solutions () SDN and the addition of capabilities designed to help mobile operators communications and enterprises manage their networks with greater ease. The SDN portfolio of solutions from already Samsung supports work. Data Center Thanks to enhanced capabilities, Samsung SDN solutions will be useful for enterprises in a wide variety of sectors, including in the field, retail and formations in to trade. This to power full range of SDN solutions will also support mobile access (xHaul), which will include fronthaul, midhaul and backhaul transport networks.
Software-Configurable Networks (SDNs) are a different approach to network architecture management that enables centralized and intelligent network management through software solutions. This centralized approach involves a higher level of automation and additional capabilities for programming the entire infrastructure, from the access network to the core of the network, which is designed to increase its efficiency. By shifting the architecture from hardware deployment to software-centric network configuration, the implementation of SDN technologies provides a highly reliable, scalable, and adaptable network infrastructure that is particularly useful for private network development.
Samsung's SDN portfolio covers all levels of SDN architecture, including controllers, orchestrators, switches, and routers. Among the advantages of SDN solutions from Samsung are the following:
- Single Solution ('SDN In-a-Box'): The SDN solution presented by Samsung can serve multiple purposes in a single product, including the role of an SDN network for data centers, be used to organize a corporate SDN network and SDN mobile access network (xHaul).
- Ease of Use: The SDN solution offers a user-friendly 3D interface that has won numerous awards. With high availability and ease of use, this solution provides a simplified view of the entire network, offering more unified and consistent management.
- Openness: cloudy Open source SDN solutions developed by the company can be easily used to be integrated with third-party switches and routers. Samsung's SDN solution is based on an open network that operating system (Open Network Operating System, ONOS) supports different types of open interfaces to ensure compatibility with hardware from various vendors.
- End-to-End Network Slicing: SDN technology automates the end-to-end cutting of network resources to help operators meet SLAs even SLA at the transport level. Combined with Samsung technologies for radio access network (RAN) and core network (Core), Samsung SDN will allow mobile operators to achieve optimal network configuration for various business models due to the capabilities of end-to-end network segmentation.
