The company began designing a new stage of the data center in August 2020, work began in December, and in April the data center received the first client. As of July 2021, out of 300 posts, queue 36 has been launched, the rest are planned to be launched during the year and a half. In total, the data center of the company will have 500 racks.

A number of features of the project is connected with the fact that the room in which the DPC is placed is located in the central part of St. Petersburg. The building was built from 1938 to 1941, so it could not be rebuilt, although it belongs to the category. In industrial real estate the old building there are features: in particular, the major reconstruction of part of the building is prohibited - only complete, and this is expensive and therefore did not make sense for this project.

In particular, this affected the choice of the air conditioning system. The project used freon precision air conditioners STULZ CyberAir 3Pro ASD812A and winter kit up to -40C. The selected air conditioners allow you to place the equipment as compact as possible, and perform all maintenance without allocating additional zones, the heads of the data center emphasize. The partner in the creation of the cooling system was HTS, an authorized supplier of precision air conditioning and cold supply equipment to STULZ (Germany) in the Russian Federation . It is worth noting that this is the third joint project with Miran.

One of the features of STULZ equipment is the ability to position it as close as possible to cold corridors. Due to the technical design, some similar air conditioners of other brands cannot work with posts that are located close. STULZ does not have this drawback, you only need to provide a physical passage and open doors, so this also allows you to increase the number of racks on the site, "explains Nikolaev Vitaly, director of operation and construction of the Miran data center. - We had to use the most compact UPS to occupy the minimum area with the maximum result. This approach is very important for the financial component of the data center.

Structurally, the building was not adapted to accommodate equipment on the roof. Since the data center uses freon air conditioners, the amount of equipment on the roof is huge. To ensure its placement, a set of measures was developed to strengthen the roof.

For the data center, the durability of the equipment and the reduction of costs for its operation were important, so hydraulic unloading of compressors was added. To ensure the maximum long-term operation of compressors, the option of an oil separator with an electronic oil level controller in the compressor was required. Since the company is calculated with the electricity supplier at a two-rate rate, devices for smooth start-up of compressors have been ordered to limit the impact of large starting currents on the power supply system and increase the life of compressors. In addition to options inside air conditioners, there are options that are installed on the roof - for example, full-size receivers.
