2021: Completing the First Phase of Business Intelligence Solution Implementation

Akron Group, a producer of mineral fertilizers, on August 3, 2021 announced the completion of the first stage of the implementation of a business intelligence solution (BI, business intelligence) as part of a comprehensive program for digital business transformation.

The Qlik Sense analytical platform combines data from all key accounting and production systems of the Group (both ISA ERP systems and MES systems) and becomes an important source of information for making management decisions in real time. The company has successfully implemented dashboards for warehouse analytics, finance, procurement, production line defects and target resource management, as well as IT operations.

One of the significant developments was the digital power control panel. In twenty sections of PJSC Akron in Veliky Novgorod, more than 400 sensors work, collecting information on the consumption of electricity, which was previously calculated with a delay. With the introduction of BI, the power plant has the ability to monitor the power consumption in the enterprise in real time, which allows you to quickly detect network problems and avoid overspending.

Mikhail Yaskevich, chief engineer of PJSC Akron, said: "In three months of industrial operation of the analytical platform, we were able to achieve higher accuracy of energy consumption planning. The value of deviations of actual electric energy consumption from the planned one has decreased to less than 1%. "

Denis Guzanov, head of the IT department of PJSC Akron, for his part noted: "Even at the start of the project, we focused on the provision of BI as a service, and initiative employees already appear in each department, who not only work with ready-made analytical reports, but also refine them for their tasks. At the same time, the spread of BI and the involvement of new employees and functions in the work with analytics is due to positive examples of application in pioneer departments. So, the digital power control panel was developed by the business process planning and organization group, which is not part of the IT department, having prepared the necessary data together with IT and production departments. We have already formed a pool of new business intelligence initiatives, which the company's employees form on their own. "
