2021: Tender for purchase of 24 DBMS licenses PostgreSQL

On August 4, 2021, it became known that Pobeda Airlines plans to purchase the domestic SUBDPostgres Pro. The company requires 24 licenses. At the same time, representatives of Postgres Pro heard about this project from CNews for the first time.

The product was developed by the Russian company Postgres Professional using a freely distributed free DBMS PostgreSQL.

The tender was published on the public procurement website on August 2, 2021. Applications are accepted until August 10, summing up is scheduled for August 20. The initial maximum contract price is 2.8 million rubles.

According to the terms of reference, the purchased DBMS should "provide access to third-party data for working with the Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle and PostgreSQL DBMS." Based on this, it is logical to assume that Pobeda is already using DBMS data. CNews also discovered the Oracle DBMS Administrator vacancy published on the Pobeda hh.ru website on August 2, 2021.

To the request of CNews about which DBMS for August 2021 are used by the airline, representatives of Pobeda could not answer. Also, Victory could not comment on plans to switch from foreign DBMS to domestic ones.

According to the technical documentation, the airline needs a specific version of the Postgres Pro Standard DBMS. It is an up-to-date version of the DBMS PostgreSQL with improved performance on multi-core systems, according to the developer's website. In addition, the database contains full-text search dictionaries and is compatible with Microsoft SQL Server.

Postgres Pro is included in the Unified Software Registry under the Ministry of Digital Arts and has a FSTEC certificate. As follows from the terms of reference, the airline plans to purchase 24 licenses for 1 core of the standard x86-64 architecture. [1].
