2021: Announcement of the FortiTrust

On August 4, 2021, Fortinet announced the expansion of the offer of security services FortiCare and FortiGuard, adding a security service called FortiTrust. FortiTrust Security offers user activity-based licensing for all networks, endpoints, and clouds that have traditionally been isolated. The original portfolio of FortiTrust services includes FortiTrust Access and FortiTrust Identity with additional service options for SASE, CASB and EPP that are scheduled to be released. FortiTrust Access allows organizations to deploy Zero Trust Access (ZTNA) with licensing based on user activity. Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) is critical for ensuring consistent protection, visibility, and control in today's hybrid and highly distributed networks.

ZTNA allows organizations to extend secure application access controls to any user. FortiTrust Access provides services to organizations for ZTNA, including the ZTNA agent and cloud orchestration. This is also based on Fortinet's ZTNA solutions, which uniquely identify and classify all users and devices that require access to the network and applications, regardless of whether users and their devices are on or off the network and applications are locally or in the cloud.

Another level of service FortiTrust is FortiTrust Identity. FortiTrust Identity offers multi-factor authentication through the cloud to verify identity.
