2021: Implementation of a system for monitoring the noise and seismic impact of mine explosions
The company Stagdok"" (part of the Group) NLMK on August 2, 2021 announced that it had organized a post for monitoring the noise and seismic impact of blasting. At a distance of 500 m from the boundaries of the quarry, a noise monitoring station for working in street conditions and a recorder for recording external vibrations were installed, which provide real-time information. The new system will continue to improve ecological production performance.
Mining works are carried out in accordance with the requirements of regulatory bodies. According to the results of production and environmental control, the standards of permissible impact on the sanitary protection zone of the enterprise are observed, there are no excesses. The monitoring station is installed at the initiative of the company for additional control.
Stagdok conducts consistent work to reduce the impact on nearby settlements. Over the past year, the blasting schedule has been changed, a protective forest belt with an area of 8.5 hectares has been planted, restrictions on the number of explosives have been introduced, the blasting mechanism with a drastic reduction in noise levels has been changed.
By the end of the year, the company plans to implement the construction of a protective earth shaft and continue to optimize the parameters of drilling and blasting operations. These measures will further reduce noise and seismic impact in the radius of the sanitary protection zone of the quarry.
