2021: Start of trailer sprayer R975i

On August 9, 2021, John Deere announced the launch of the R975i sprayer into production. According to the company, it will become the largest trailed sprayer in its history. The volume of the tank of this model will be 7500 liters, it will appear on the market in 2022 as part of the R900i series and will replenish a number of existing models with a tank capacity of 4400, 5200 and 6200 liters.

The model is focused primarily on large farms and agricultural holdings, where there is a request for wide rods and a large volume of the tank, therefore it is of noticeable interest to the Russian market. Thanks to the voluminous tank, farmers will be able to process more space at one gas station, which saves time and increases productivity.

Like other sprayers in the R900i series, the machine will be equipped with John Deere precision farming technologies, which gives chemical savings, ease of use and other features - for example, the already proven two-circuit solution supply system PowrSpray helps speed up filling, improves the quality of spraying and improves accuracy.

Simultaneously with the release of the R975i model, John Deere is improving the entire range of sprayers. On models of the M900 (i) and R900i series, the distance between the nozzles 25 cm is offered as an option. The solution assumes placement in the center. This means that an additional nozzle is placed on the sprayer rod between each nozzle holder located 50 cm apart. A nozzle holder and an additional nozzle at each end of the rod are also added to provide coating and avoid insufficient dosing at the ends of the rod.

All lines of trailed sprayers received the options presented at the R700i series in 2021. These include a system of individual control of nozzles, which limits excessive and insufficient dosing, which helps to ensure the desired yield while reducing cost. According to John Deere, the nozzle management system provides savings of up to 6 euros/ha (calculated by John Deere for a 500 ha wheat farm with a herbicide cost of 53 euros/ha and a fungicide cost of 65 euros/ha - savings of five percent from 118 euros = 5.9 euros/ha). A closed transmission system has also been introduced, providing an ISO connection. It does not allow contact with chemicals and their leakage, which makes filling safe for both the environment and the operator.
