On August 12, 2021, it became known that the turnstiles of the Moscow metro began to be equipped with new controllers that pass passengers faster.
We are starting a new stage - updating technology on turnstiles to add more opportunities and make the passage to the metro even more convenient and faster. To do this, we will install modern pass zone controllers (CSP) at all metro stations. This is the "head" of the turnstile, to which you attach the Troika or a bank card, and one of the most important elements of the new ticket system, the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport said. |
It is specified that thanks to the new controllers, the speed of reading cards will increase, which will allow passengers to go to the station faster; it will be possible to pay for travel without unlocking the smartphone, and in the future it will be possible to introduce alternative methods of paying for travel using QR codes. Also, new controllers will help scale the coverage area of the virtual card to pay for the Troika fare.
The head of Association electronic a denegviktor Dostov in a conversation with Kommersant reported that in the Moscow subway will be established by universal readers of QR codes and in need of them it will be possible to use not only for journey payment, but also reading of other information. As an example, he cited Turkey, which introduced a restriction on the use of public transport in connection with COVID-19, linking a personal medical HES code to transport cards.
The old controllers are worn out - most have been working for 10 years, their service is getting more expensive every year, and some spare parts are no longer produced, the subway emphasized.
In total, more than 5 thousand pass zone controllers will be purchased under the contract. For these purposes, the authorities are ready to spend up to 1.3 billion rubles.[1][2]
