2021: Plan for installation of 500 stationary photo and video recording systems for traffic violations
On August 18, 2021, Rostelecom announced that it would create digital road safety lines by order of the Transport Directorate of the Republic of Bashkortostan. By the end of 2021, the company will install 500 stationary photo and video recording complexes for traffic violations on the region's highways. Most of them will be connected in Ufa, Sterlitamak, Salavat, Kumertau and Neftekamsk, over 100 will work on municipal highways.
Photo and video recording complexes are provided to the customer on a rental basis. Until the end of 2026, Rostelecom will provide service services to the system, then transfer it to the republic.
We are pleased to share with Bashkortostan our experience and competencies in creating and developing a photo and video recording system on the roads. Our company is engaged in such projects in more than 50 regions of the country. The next stage in the development of the digital system in the republic provides for the installation of 500 complexes - this is the largest contract concluded by Rostelecom in 2021. It is important to emphasize that immediately after installation, photo and video recording systems begin to have a positive impact on the situation on the roads - the number of speed limits and dangerous overtaking decreases, drivers behave more correctly at pedestrian crossings. All this leads to a decrease in the number of traffic accidents and helps to preserve the health and life of people, "said Igor Zimin, vice president of applied projects at Rostelecom. |
Photo and video recording complexes will be installed on roads with heavy traffic and high accident rates. Most (310 complexes) are designed to monitor the speed limit, 170 for monitoring the situation at pedestrian crossings, 18 for fixing violations at regulated intersections and two complexes for checking compliance with stop and parking rules.
Cameras are able to record several violations at the same time: speeding, driving on the side of the road or a lane allocated for public transport, leaving for tram tracks, crossing the stop line, driving at a traffic light prohibiting signal, non-compliance with pedestrian crossing rules. Devices work around the clock in any weather, automatically tracking violators even in conditions of insufficient visibility.
from Information complexes will be transferred to the center for automatic recording of administrative offenses in the field of traffic TRAFFIC POLICE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Employees of the regional state traffic inspectorate will be able to monitor in real time the situation on the tracks, search for cars those that are included in the theft.
Reducing accidents on highways is one of the priority areas of the regional government. As of August 2021, 1,015 automatic photo and video recording complexes of traffic violations help control the situation on the roads, of which 946 are stationary, 63 are mobile and six are mobile. Thanks to measuring instruments, the vigilance of drivers and accidents becomes less. Since August 2020, the number of traffic accidents in the places where the cameras were installed has decreased by 4.1%, and the number of wounded has decreased by 6%, "said Mansaf Nizakaev, head of the State Administrative Institution" Transport Directorate of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
