SecurOS Soffit ‒ intelligent system of visual (light) tracking of people to prevent manslaughter of pedestrians at unregulated pedestrian crossings.

2021: Complex Overview

According to information for August 2021, SecurOS Soffit is installed on the support next to the pedestrian crossing. Video analytic detectors of the complex, operating on the basis of artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies, provide video processing from a built-in video camera, detect people on a "zebra," determine the coordinates and direction of their movement.

In standby mode, an LED spotlight consisting of eight LED modules provides static lighting of the pedestrian crossing ‒ depending on the degree of illumination of the control area, and can replace the street lighting system if necessary. The brightness of the LED modules can be adjusted according to the illumination conditions at the location of the complex.

The control zone includes a pedestrian crossing and adjacent areas of sidewalks on both sides of the crossing. At the moment of pedestrian detection, dynamic illumination mode is activated in the control area. The area of the current location of the person is calculated and highlighted by the corresponding LED module, providing continuous tracking of the pedestrian movement on the "zebra." At the same time, dynamic backlight uses additional power of the corresponding LED module, and static backlight of the remaining modules will continue to operate at reduced power.

Continuous light tracking of a moving pedestrian along a pedestrian crossing is provided. The directional light of the spotlight illuminates only pedestrians and does not blind drivers.

The dynamic illumination may be constant or pulsating. The pulsating mode makes the person even more visible to the driver in the light of lights, bright signs, advertising displays and headlights of other cars.

After the pedestrian leaves the control area, the spotlight returns to standby mode.

One complex allows you to control the situation at a pedestrian crossing crossing up to 4 lanes of the roadway.

Structurally SecurOS Soffit consists of three main units:

• intelligent monitoring unit (controller);
• specialized video camera;
• modular LED white light searchlight.

Peculiarities of the complex:

• Combined static lighting of a pedestrian crossing and dynamic lighting of a pedestrian during its movement.
• Ability to adjust the brightness of LED modules.
• The presence of a pulsating illumination mode in the active mode is to attract additional attention to pedestrians.
• The lack of blinding of vehicle drivers due to the specially designed design of the LED spotlight.
• Activation of the system by the illumination sensor or by the signal of the traffic light controller (when the traffic light switched to "standby mode").
• Human neural network detector.
• The ability to transfer video and statistical information to the upper decision-making level, for example, in the Safe City AIC.
• High class of system protection against external influences ‒ IP66.
• Easy to install.
