2021: Axis People Counter Update

On August 20, 2021, Axis Communications introduced an updated version of the AXIS People Counter people counting analytical application. AXIS People Counter is built into compatible Axis cameras and provides counting of incoming and outgoing people, filling and attendance of the room. It also allows you to analyze the data received about the movement of people and use them to improve the efficiency of the enterprise. The application can be used in various areas and locations: in retail stores, public institutions, airports, at train stations.

The application estimates the real-time occupancy of the room, and the system user can instantly access data on the number of people in specific areas at the right time. This allows you to analyze visitor flows and determine periods of maximum attendance, in order to then make informed decisions to optimize the work of the enterprise, for example, by optimizing the schedule of work and the number of employees. The collected analytical information also helps to evaluate the effectiveness of the advertising campaign, improve the quality of service, reduce costs by optimizing the budget.

With built-in analytics, AXIS People Counter can be configured and monitored remotely to get statistics from all connected cameras at once. Several cameras on which the application is installed can interact with each other to implement synchronous counting and comparative analysis of different objects.
