On September 1, 2021, TEGRUS announced the implementation of a comprehensive project to create a data center for the Mayakovsky library, including engineering infrastructure. The project was completed in six weeks.

As of September 2021, a corporate library service system is operating in St. Petersburg. Its creation began in the early 2000s and at that time the issue of the data center was not even considered. Its creation was begun during the modernization of the library building on the nab. Fontanka River, d.44, in order to place in it in the future digital capacities of the entire combined network of libraries in St. Petersburg.

TEGRUS created for the library the concept of a comprehensive project to create the engineering infrastructure of the data center, calculated the optimal configuration of all engineering systems, designed the integration of systems, completed the installation, configuration, testing and launch of IT infrastructure into industrial operation.

The engineering infrastructure of the data center is a complex of interconnected and interacting systems.

The system integrator equipped the library data center with a precision air conditioning system, a system for monitoring the physical parameters of the environment, uninterruptible power supply and power distribution systems, as well as a structured cable system. The entire set of technical works on the project was completed in a short time - six weeks.

The entire data center infrastructure was implemented on the basis of Huawei equipment and solutions. The choice was made in favor of Huawei, since the main complex solution FusionModule2000 this manufacturer is characterized by a high degree of integration, savings in data center space, high energy efficiency, the ability to quickly install, optimal compatibility, a full-scale monitoring system and stable cooling, as well as exceptional safety and reliability.

Also in the reconstructed library building, TEGRUS specialists deployed a full-fledged Wi-Fi system. The network will be used by both visitors to the library and its employees. Huawei access points were used for full coverage. The system turned out to be seamless and with the possibility of expansion to neighboring customer buildings.

According to the results of the project, the Mayakovsky library received a technological and relevant data center and a reliable engineering infrastructure.

The building of the library named after Mayakovsky is a monument of history and culture. In addition, near the building there are also historical houses - all this we had to take into account. This was both the feature and the complexity of this project. Of course, sometimes in the process of work we had restrictions because of this. So, for example, we were not able to completely cover the courtyard territory with a wireless network, since the facade of the building should remain inviolable and it is impossible to place any devices on it, even small access points. However, thanks to the expertise and competencies of our engineers and installers, we coped with most of the difficulties, "said Alexander Mikhailov, technical director of TEGRUS.

TEGRUS experts developed and handed over to the customer a complete set of as-built and operational documentation, as well as trained the customer's employees on the basics of operating the installed systems and equipment.

Mayakovsky Library will open after reconstruction on October 7, 2021.
