Start of landfill operation

On December 22, 2021, Russia's first testing ground for 5G equipment and related services was launched. It was deployed on the basis of the Botkin hospital.

Here, according to the press service of Rostelecom (the company created the digital infrastructure of the landfill), all technological conditions have been created in order to prepare new services for practical operation as a result of the joint work of the operator, developers and future consumers.

Russia's first testing ground for 5G equipment based on Botkin Hospital launched

The training ground will pilot breakthrough digital technologies and services in the field. In the health care future, it is planned to conduct applied research, test prototypes and prototypes of innovative medical solutions and services based on 5G., Startups developing medical services, are invited to test their developments in real conditions, taking advantage of fifth-generation communication networks.

As the Minister of the Moscow Government, the Head of Department information technologiyeduard marked out Lysenko, commenting on start of the 5G-ground, the communications infrastructure is developed in the millimetric range which is the most suitable for application in the high-loaded locations there. This allows you to achieve ultra-high throughput - up to 4 Gb/s per user or device, as well as low data delay. As examples of the use of 5G in the field of health, Lysenko called round-the-clock monitoring of the state of patients, remote consultations in real time and new methods for training medical personnel, including using virtual and augmented reality technologies.

The creation of 5G industrial landfills is provided for in the agreement on cooperation for the development of fifth-generation networks in the capital, which in June 2021 was signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Rostelecom President Mikhail Oseevsky.

An agreement was concluded on the creation of Russia's first industrial 5G landfill

On September 10, 2021, it was announced the creation of Russia's first industrial training ground with the infrastructure of fifth-generation communication networks (5G). It was created on the basis of the Botkin Hospital and will be used to test digital technologies in healthcare.

An agreement on cooperation in this direction was concluded by the Moscow Social Development Complex - the Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Healthcare and the S.P. Botkin City Clinical Hospital, the Moscow Department of Information Technology (DIT of Moscow) and Rostelecom. They agreed to conduct applied research, testing of prototypes and prototypes of solutions, digital services and services on the basis of the landfill.

Moscow launches the first industrial 5G landfill in the Russian Federation on the basis of the Botkin hospital

According to the head of the capital's information technology department, Eduard Lysenko, Moscow will consistently create several industrial 5G landfills, since to implement such solutions on the scale of a 12-million-dollar metropolis, you need to make sure that they are reliable, safe and effective. He noted that landfills will appear on the basis of existing city facilities on which the 5G network will be deployed and various promising solutions will be tested. Thus, as a result of the project, promising scenarios for using 5G technology in the Moscow healthcare system will be formed.

In turn, Vyacheslav Shulenin, Director General of the Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Healthcare, quoted by the press service, explained that together with the Botkin Hospital, the most promising projects will be selected, including AR solutions for helping doctors with complex operations, VR simulators for training medical personnel and remote monitoring of patients in real time.

The ministry said that the Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Healthcare will be engaged in the search, selection and testing of medical services. Rostelecom will act as the operator of the 5G network: it will create the infrastructure and provide the necessary equipment, including subscriber devices, as well as develop and provide technical solutions. Botkin Hospital will provide its own clinical infrastructure for conducting research.[1]
