Paragon Virtualization Manager 2010 Professional

In July, 2010 the Paragon Software Group company announced the new version of the product Paragon Virtualization Manager 2010 Professional. These tools focused on consumer market will simplify transfer of working environments between physical and virtual environments and also can be used for work with the data stored on virtual disks.

Thanks to the patent Paragon Connect VD technology providing data access on virtual disks of different types, Virtualization Manager erases borders between physical and virtual environments. The software also has close compatibility with products from the leading suppliers of technologies of virtualization, including Microsoft, VMware and Oracle.

The solution will simplify transfer of Windows computer in virtual environment and vice versa, with the minimum downtime. The structure of a packet switches on the P2V Adjust Tool tool which will help to recover the working environments based on old versions of Windows (since Win2K) started on virtual machines.

The simple Virtualization Manager interface in mastering can be used for work with virtual disks without start of the virtual machine, including execute migration of one virtual environment in other (V2V), organize data transmission between physical and virtual environments, work with disk sections, etc.

The product will allow to carry out migration of Windows systems to virtual environment (P2V), from a virtual environment in a physical medium (V2P), from one virtual environment in other (V2V), migration of Windows systems on other hardware platform (P2P). Besides, the possibility of data exchange between physical and virtual environments or between a virtual disk and its "pictures" (snapshots) is provided.

Advanced masters for data recovery and their copying between physical and virtual environments were a part of the new version. Users are given an opportunity of creation of Windows Vista and Windows 7 virtual machines. The virtual machine can be mounted in the mode "only reading" which will prevent change of important data in the course of migration.

Paragon Virtualization Manager 12 Pro

In the spring of 2012 the Paragon Software Group (PSG) company announced release of the new version of the universal solution for accomplishment of all widespread tasks of migration and virtualization of systems under the name Paragon Virtualization Manager 12 Professional (VM 12 Pro). Developers of a product promise that using this packet even not too experienced user will be able to execute basic and expanded operations on transfer of physical machines in virtual (P2V) and vice versa (V2P) with zero idle times of systems. Besides, as the majority of modern hypervisors do not support virtual drives more than 2 in size of Tb, the new version of Paragon Virtualization Manager also supports migration from physical drives with a capacity of 2 of Tb above on virtual drives of the smaller size.

The updated corporate Connect VD technology for data transfer in the mode of nondestructive copying and in the mode of creation of pictures provides the maximum ease of operations on data management and their transfer between different types of virtual machines. Besides, the Connect VD technology provides extremely simple migration from one virtual environments in other (V2V). Now the user can connect a virtual disk as normal physical, and then to use all traditional functions for work with physical disks, only in virtual environment. The mode "only for reading" and the mode of special reading record allow to create the picture and to apply all changes after creation of the picture to test operability of all configurations without destruction of an initial virtual disk.

The packet of Virtualization Manager 12 Professional is compatible to all popular environments of virtualization, including Microsoft, VMware and Oracle, providing support of such client virtual machines as Oracle Virtual Box 4, Microsoft Virtual PC, VMware Workstation and VMware Fusion. Migration of client working environments in any direction is supported: P2V, V2V, P2P and P2V Restore (from the backup copy of the physical machine in virtual). The module Create VD allows to create a new virtual disk using the ordinary master. It is also possible to recover capability of the operating system to loading after unsuccessful use of third-party utilities for virtualization or after transfer on the machine of other hardware configuration (P2P and P2V Adjust).

For virtual drives all basic transactions with sections – creation, formatting, removal, movement, change of the sizes and so on are supported. In case of unexpected disconnection from the virtual machine or other emergency situation incomplete transactions with virtual drives can be resumed from that point where they were interrupted. For consolidation of the place on disks it is possible to integrate volumes of virtual drives – for example, to make of two volumes of one bigger size.
