In July, 2010 the COMSOL company released the product Chemical Reaction Engineering Module addressed to producers of consumer goods and also employees of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Using a new component of the COMSOL platform researchers will be able to create the unified laboratory environment allowing to study the simulated chemical reactions proceeding in different conditions.
In the product Chemical Reaction Engineering Module combining functionality of two earlier available modules (Chemical Engineering Module and Reaction Engineering Module) the advanced architecture of the new version of the COMSOL 4 platform is implemented. Watching chemical reaction in the conditions which are brought closer to real researchers will be able to control temperature, to change concentration of reagents and to learn what impact on course of reaction change of these and other factors has.
The software conforms to the industry standard of CAPE-OPEN which is used for modeling, simulation and design of chemical processes. The product includes function of reading the CHEMKINSH files describing chemical reactions.
Chemical Reaction Engineering Module is available to operating systems Windows, Linux and Macintosh.
