2021: Launch of the search service for missing pets by photo
On September 13, 2021, Goznak announced the launch of an online service for searching for lost pets by photograph. The project was called "Tail of Luck," its consultant and information partner is the Russian Canine Federation (RCF).
According to the developers, the free service automatically finds among hundreds of thousands of ads the right pet. The site's mechanics are based on recognizing and combining the image of an animal in photographs from ads about lost and found pets. The user posts an ad on the site with a photo of the animal, indicates the date and place of its discovery or loss. At the same time, artificial intelligence automatically views the ad base, and if the image of the missing animal matches the photo of the found, the system will notify the user about this. The accuracy claimed by the developers exceeds 97% for dogs and 96.5% for cats.
Anyone can apply for a missing or found pet. You need to register when submitting an announcement. The site also makes it possible to advertise to foundations and shelters - organizations can replenish the site's database with information about animals that are waiting for their owners for free. This, according to the creators of the service, will help the latter conduct their activities more effectively and transfer pets into good hands faster.
After the missing pet is successfully found, the ads associated with it will be removed from public view. It is also planned to launch a mobile application integrated with the Tail of Luck service. Further development of the project is planned to be carried out on the basis of the mobile version. According to creators, the audience of the service can be more than 1.8 million people.[1]
