2021: Smart Points Announcement
In mid-September 2021, Xiaomi introduced smart glasses, which are expected to make up worthy Google Glass competition. The device can not only take photos, but also display messages and notifications, make calls, provide navigation and translate text in real time.
Xiaomi smart glasses are equipped with a quad-core ARM processor and work on Android. Their weight is 51 g. They use MicroLED imaging technology, which is known to have higher brightness and a longer life than OLED. Xiaomi representatives claim to have 2.4x2.02 m in new display glasses.
Xiaomi explained that under a microscope this display is comparable in size to rice grain, while the size of individual pixels is 4 microns. This made it possible to perfectly integrate the display into the frame of glasses. The developers opted for a monochrome solution, the peak brightness of which reaches 2 million nits, to provide the display with the ability to pass enough light through a complex optical design even in strong sunlight.
Xiaomi Smart Glasses are equipped with a 5 MP camera, microphones and speakers. Glasses have a touch surface for control, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, the user does not need to connect the accessory to the smartphone for full work.
For example, the gadget can selectively show the user notifications related to the smart home system or messages from important contacts. The smart glasses owner can view navigation tips, and the device displays the number of the one who calls the smartphone - the user can answer the call using the built-in microphone and smart glasses speakers.[1][2]
