2021: Agreement on Cooperation in the Development of the Digital Economy and Telecom Infrastructure of the Region

Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, and the government of the Komi Republic signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of the digital economy and telecommunications infrastructure of the region. This was announced on September 14, 2021 by representatives of Tele2. The planned volume of operator investments in 2021 is 490 million rubles.

The parties are aimed at the active development of information and telecommunications infrastructure in the region and the implementation of the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation program. The operator focuses on improving and expanding the coverage area of ​ ​ the mobile data network in 4G and 2G standards, increasing the availability of modern communication services and digital services.

A separate promising area is the implementation of projects based on big data analytics, which can be used in urban planning, the development of road infrastructure and the tourism potential of the region, logistics, the development of retail networks, and the optimization of production processes.

By the end of 2021, existing network facilities will be modernized and new base stations will be launched in Usinsky, Vuktyls, Sosnogorsk, Ukhta and Syktyvkarsky urban districts, Izhemsky, Koigorodsky, Kortkerossky, Priluzsky, Syktyvdinsky, Ust-Vymsky, Ust-Kulomsky, Uslsky districts.
