Fujifilm enters into a 10-year contract with the US Navy for the supply of digital X-ray devices

At the end of September 2021, Fujifilm, a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and medical informatics solutions, announced a 10-year contract with a single source to supply innovative digital radiography (DR) systems from the US Navy and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
According to the contract, Fujifilm will equip US Navy vessels with advanced DR clinical X-ray cabinet systems equipped with new generation detector technology, as well as a high-quality compact floor camera with all the latest functions. The first delivery and installation of the DR system is planned for a new US Navy ship at the end of 2021.
This single source DR standardization contract was awarded to Fujifilm after a thorough two-year evaluation and comparison with DR's numerous competitive technologies. The US Navy and DLA conducted a comprehensive assessment of the technologies, functionality, adaptability, service support infrastructure and compliance with the cybersecurity requirements of each manufacturer's systems.

Fujifilm was chosen as the only supplier that best met or exceeded the strict standards and high criteria of the US Navy. This latest contract, one of a long string of contracts to supply Fujifilm medical imaging solutions and enterprise imaging solutions. The company received contracts from various divisions of the US federal government, including a 10-year contract for a digital image processing network and PACS IV image archiving and communications systems, as well as a 10-year contract for joint DLA/VA radiology and imaging systems.[1]
